City Looking to Improve Traverse Heights Park

Aug. 26, 2014

There is a park in Traverse City with no name and few visitors – and the Parks and Recreation Commission along with neighborhood volunteers are looking to change that.

The park, informally known as Triangle Park or Jupiter Park (because it hosts the planet Jupiter as part of the solar system installation that follows the TART Trail), sits at the corner of Rose and Boyd streets. The commission thinks it could benefit from new and updated amenities and is turning to residents for input. It is conducting a survey that can be accessed here and the commission will be discussing the park at its meeting on Sept. 4 at 6:30pm.

Volunteers will also take ideas at the Traverse Heights Neighborhood Association meeting scheduled for Sept. 18 and at the park. People may also email project representatives from the commission, Brooke Di Giacomo and Gary Howe.
