City Will Interview Four For Manager

April 24, 2015

City staff have released the names of the four individuals they will interview to be Traverse City's next city manager, a day after one of the confidential applicants was revealed to be Grand Traverse County Administrator Dave Benda.

The City Commission extended interview invitations to seven candidates, six of whom had requested confidentiality until acceptance of an interview. Three candidates declined the interview by yesterday's noon deadline, confirms Jamie Caroffino, human resources generalist for the city.

In addition to Benda, the city will interview Martin A. Colburn, city administrator of Mason, Mich. since 1999; Marvin "Marc" Collins III, assistant city manager for the City of Fort Myers, Fla. since 2009; and James D. Drumm, city manager for the City of Zephyrhills, Fla. since 2011. Each candidate's resume can be viewed here.

Interviews are planned with the City Commission for Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. Finalists will be invited to a second round of interviews, which will consist of candidates meeting one-on-one with commissioners and the department head team, as well as a second interview with the full City Commission.
