Concert And Auction To Benefit Environmental Club, Trip

April 21, 2017

A concert and silent auction to benefit Central High School’s Students for Environmental Advocacy (SEA) Club will take place tonight (Friday, April 21) at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. All proceeds of the event will go to defray the travel expenses of 12 SEA Club members who plan to travel to Washington D.C. in June to participate in the Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) annual conference and lobby days. The event takes place from 6:30pm to 9pm and is free and open to the public, though donations are encouraged. Musical acts include:
 - Aili Simpson & Amelia Burke, classical violin duet (SEA Club members)
 - Glen Chown, piano and singing
 - Jon Timm, singer-songwriter
 - The Minor Six – jazz combo (three of whom are SEA Club members)
 - The Unitarian Universalist Choir

CCL is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization that pursues respectful dialog to build momentum for the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable national climate change solutions. SEA is a Traverse City Central High School organization founded in 2016 by students committed to making a difference for the natural environment both locally and nationally.
