County Finalizes Lease With Pavilions

Sept. 2, 2014

Grand Traverse County Commissioners have given final approval to a lease agreement with Grand Traverse Pavilions to rent the former Health Department Building on Garfield Road.

The 20-year lease began Sept. 1 and paves the way for the Pavilions to use the site for a PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Center which will include a medical clinic, adult day center, cafeteria and rehab center/gym. The Pavilions will pay $31,250 annually, beginning in 2018.

The Garfield Road building, which the county purchased from the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District in 1993, has been vacant since Nov. 2012 when the county opened its new $5.5 million, $35,500 square foot building on LaFranier Road.
