The Father Fred Foundation will receive a $25,000 workplace facelift as winner of a contest sponsored by Interphase Interiors in Traverse City. Earlier this year, dozens of northern Michigan nonprofits were nominated for the facelift and the list was then narrowed down to five finalists based on the organization's mission and influence on the community, excellence in leadership and the need for an upgraded workspace. Father Fred was ultimately chosen based on input from online public voting and a panel of judges.
Interphase Interiors plans to help Father Fred re-invigorate the entire second story of its building, creating separate workspaces that will also allow for the chaplain to move from a small, non-private space to a private ground floor office for counseling individuals. Work will begin this month and be complete before the end of the year.
