A forum on the issue of gun violence will take place tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse (6726 Center Rd.) in Traverse City. Dan O'Neil of Thompson O'Neil Law will moderate the panel featuring Sheriff Thomas Bensley, Peter Wolcott, formerly of the State Department in Australia, attorney David Bieganowski, an advocate and teacher of gun safety and Steve Cook, chair of the Michigan Education Association.
A display and discussion of firearm types begins at 5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend both the demo and panel discussion. The forum is sponsored by the UU Congregation, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship of Grace Episcopal Church, the Traverse Area Interfaith Peace Fellowship and Veterans for Peace.
