The Traverse City Police Department responded to Folgarelli's Market and Wine Shop on West Front at 11 p.m. Tuesday following a report of an attempted break-in. Upon arrival, police determined the suspect had fled after breaking out a rear window and activating an alarm. Nothing was stolen.
Later in the evening and into Wednesday morning, three additional businesses were broken into:
A person(s) broke a window in a door at Jere's Barber Shop (110 S. Oak) and then unlocked it from the inside. Nothing was reported stolen. Elite Dry Cleaners, which adjoins the barber shop at 501 W. Front, was entered via an interior door. A video recorder was reported stolen, but later recoverd. The Flower Station at 341 West Front was also entered through a lower door. Access was gained to the safe and a small amount of cash and dozens of roses were stolen.
