Four Teens Issued MIPs At Elmwood Township Party

Four teenagers were cited for being minors in possession of alcohol (MIPs) after neighbors complained about a loud Elmwood Township party.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to East Island Court shortly after 1am Monday. Deputies discovered four male teenagers around a campfire with multiple beer cans scattered around the area. All four teens, who were from Traverse City and ranged in age from 16 to 18 years old, admitted to drinking alcohol. They were issued MIPs and given future court dates. The 16-year-old in the group was turned over his to parents.
