This Friday (Sept. 13), one local church will be celebrating its heritage by celebrating all things German. Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City is hosting its inaugural Germanfest. Come dressed in Lederhosen and Dirndl and enjoy authentic food, traditional music, dancing and singing all under the "Big Top" tent. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. at the church's location at 1003 S. Maple Street. Tickets are $35 per person (21 and older). German beer and wine tokens sold separately ($6 per token) and are limited to 3 tokens per person. Tickets by calling 946.2720 or emailing germanfestRSVP@gmail.com.
