Man Arrested For Pulling Gun On Relative

A Grand Rapids man was arrested Sunday for pointing a handgun at a family member during a dispute in a Garfield Township home.

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the home to investigate after being contacted by witnesses. The suspect left the home before deputies arrived. Nobody was hurt during the altercation.

Deputies determined the 27-year-old suspect lives in Grand Rapids and has ties to the Traverse City area. Deputies worked with the Michigan State Police to track down the man, who was picked up by state troopers near his Grand Rapids residence. He was arrested, turned over to the custody of the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office and lodged at Grand Traverse County Jail. The man faces charges of felonious assault and possession of a firearm while commiting a felony.
