NMC Lands On A List For Lifting Off

June 27, 2015

Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) has been ranked 10th out of the top 15 Best Drone Training Colleges by SuccessfulStudent.org.

The site says factors considered in the ranking were academic reputation, hands-on drone training in piloting/engineering, variety of courses, and accreditation.

NMC offers specialized Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) training, aimed at giving students skills to operate a small (under 55 lbs) UAV for many commercial applications, and an Engineering Technology program specializing in unmanned aerial systems that includes training on electrics, hydraulics, programming basics, and robotics.

The college also helped incubate Aetos Group, a successful UAS startup
