Ribbon Cutting Wednesday For Pine Street Bridge

June 24, 2016

A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Pine Street Pedestrian Bridge is planned for next Wednesday (June 29) at 3pm.

Representatives from the city, Downtown Development Authority, Traverse City Light & Power, and Grand Traverse County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority will be on hand for the event. Traverse City Mayor Jim Carruthers, DDA Chair Chuck Judson, TCL&P Chair Jan Geht and GTCBRA Chair Mark Eckhoff will speak at the ceremony.

The new bridge spans the Boardman River connecting West Front Street near J&S Hamburg to the Warehouse District. The $1,063,000 project was included in city plans since 1997 and was designed to help better connect the downtown retail and restaurant district with the Warehouse District.
