Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail Now Connects To Port Oneida

May 25, 2015

The newest section of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is now open. The new segment from Fisher Road to Port Oneida Road adds about 3.5 miles to the 9.5 miles of previously completed trail. It inlcudes a boardwalk over wetlands and connects users to the Port Oneida Rural Historic District.

There will be a ribbon cutting for the new section of trail on June 17 at 11am at the Olsen Farm in Port Oneida.

The next phase of the Heritage Trail will continue on to County Road 669 and eventually all the way to Good Harbor. Fundraising is still underway. Learn more here.
