TC Man Killed In Grant Township Crash

Oct. 24, 2016

An 88-year-old Traverse City man was killed in a Grant Township car crash this weekend.

Donald Fredrick Nottke was driving solo north on County Road 633 near Schnell Road just after 7pm Friday when he attempted to turn left into a private driveway. Nottke, who was driving a 2008 Subaru Forester, failed to yield the right-of-way to a southbound 2001 GMC pick-up. The GMC struck the Subaru.

Nottke was taken to Munson Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. The GMC was driven by a 38-year-old Lake Ann man, who had two young children in the vehicle. No one in the truck was injured in the collision.

All of the occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
