"The Sessions" and Sex at The State

One of Ferris State University's most popular professors – Robert Friar, professor of human physiology and human sexuality – takes the stage in Traverse City tonight as part of the State Theatre's Science On Screen special series, which pairs films with renowned experts from the world of scientific and medical research.

Professor Friar will lead a lively discussion on "Why We Have $exual Desires" along with a screening of The Sessions, which tells the story of a man confined to an iron lung who is determined, at age 38, to lose his virginity. Attendees will also receive a copy of the autobiography of Mark O'Brien, the subject of the film.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $8. Discounts for members, seniors and students.

Thanks, Greg. Just one more example of MM pushing his agenda. So much for "just great movies." And Lynn, you missed the point entirely.

Actually, in addition to the Community College, there are also eight Universities with offices and classes in this town, offering dozens of undergraduate and graduate degree programs that can be completed right here in the University Center on Cass Rd.
In addition, I don't believe anyone is being compelled to attend this event, or any other event at the State, educational or otherwise.

Greg,
Please keep in mind we do have a college in this town. They count as students as well...

Greg on October 16, 2013 10:53am

Students? This is how the State gives back to the community.
