The Traverse City Police Department is reporting two pedestrian/car accidents in the last 24 hours in the city. The first occurred Tuesday morning, when a 25-year-old female walking on the south sidewalk of East Front Street was struck by a vehicle turning into McDonald's. The victim sought medical attention for minor injuries, while the driver was ticketed for failure to yield. The second accident occurred Wednesday morning, when a 13-year-old boy attempting to cross Munson Avenue near Cochlin Street was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The boy was transported to Munson Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the accident was not ticketed or found at fault. Police are warning residents that due to darker mornings this time of year, drivers, bikers and pedestrians should take extra care while on or near roads.
