When Madonna Came to Town

July 28, 2014

Part two of an oral history of the Traverse City Film Festival - including some inside anecdotes from Madonna's visit in 2008 -- debuts in this week's Northern Express. The two-part oral history (part one of which appeared in the 7/21 issue) was written in honor of the festival's tenth anniversary and features the stories of more than a dozen players who were with TCFF at its inception. An accompanying feature story highlights the behind-the-scenes experiences of four long-time festival volunteers, while a separate article looks at the musical side of the festival.

Also in this week's issue, you'll find:

* An inside look at the new WakeFire Wakeboarding Park in Indian River
* A profile of Charlevoix's hottest new restaurant, Quay
* Previews of the upcoming Boyne Falls Polish Festival (July 31-August 3) and Short's Fest in Elk Rapids (August 2)

...and much more! Check out the Northern Express online, or pick up a free copy at one of more than 600 distribution spots across 13 counties. And, stay connected throughout the week on Facebook
