Woman Arrested For Domestic Assault

A 31-year-old woman was arrested for domestic assault following a run-in with her boyfriend's mother Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a reported domestic assault in progress in the 11,000 block of Weisler Road in Solon Township just before 8:30pm. They found a 54-year-old femlae victim with facial injuries. The victim told deputies she had been in an argument with her adult son over money, and her son's girlfriend - who also lived in the residence - got involved in the altercation. The girlfriend became physical, pulling the victim's hair and punching her in the face.

The female suspect was located near the intersection of M-72 and M-22 in Greilickville and was arrested for domestic assault. She was lodged at the Leelanau County Jail. The victim was treated at the scene by Cedar Fire And Rescue but declined to be taken to the hospital.
