Curious George, PBS Kids Featured At Free Children's Book Fest Saturday

By Beth Milligan | Nov. 9, 2019

Families are invited to attend the free Traverse City Children’s Book Festival Saturday (Nov. 9) from 10am to 2pm at the City Opera House in downtown TC - offering a jam-packed day of activities, crafts, performances, and contests for children of all ages.

In honor of the event's tenth anniversary, the TC Children's Book Festival is partnering with WCMU and Traverse City Tourism to showcase national television network PBS Kids. Beloved children's book character Curious George will make an appearance at the event, and a special preview will be shown of new show Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum.

The festival will also showcase award-winning authors from Traverse City and around the country, who will be onhand to sign and sell their work. Visitors can purchase books on-site and take advantage of TBA Credit Union Book Bucks, which spend like cash and are given out at the door to the public, while supplies last. Other featured activities will include live entertainment from Old Town Playhouse Young Company, storytelling by Jenifer Strauss, and arts and crafts hosted by area nonprofits.

The event is free and open to the public. All proceeds benefit Born to Read, local children’s literacy initiatives. For more details, click here.
