Driver Cited After Rollover Accident

A 19-year-old Dearborn Heights man was cited for speeding following a rollover accident in Elmwood Township Thursday.
Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene of the single-vehicle accident at the intersection of M-72 and Bugai Road at 12:36pm. Deputies found a 2007 Ford SUV rolled over onto its roof off the southwest corner of the intersection.
An investigation determined the driver was headed east on M-72 approaching the intersection when he attempted to stop for a red light. He lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, rolling his vehicle over. The driver was uninjured in crash, but was cited for a violation of basic speed law.
