Hastings Street Closure Next Three Weeks

By Beth Milligan | Oct. 15, 2018

Traverse City and Elmer’s Crane and Dozer crews will be resurfacing Hastings Street starting today (Monday) and continuing for the next three weeks.

The project will require the closure of Hastings Street between East Eighth and Boon streets. Crews will mill or remove the existing asphalt surface, remove concrete patches, grade and compact the gravel base where the asphalt and concrete has been removed, adjust manhole covers, and overlay with hot-mix asphalt.

Cross-street traffic will be maintained on Parson Road, Centre Street, Carver Street, and Boon Street. However, the project will include improvements to the Centre Street intersection. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays. The project is expected to be substantially complete by Friday, November 2.
