Meet The 2018 Traverse City 40Under40

By Luke Haase | Aug. 31, 2018

Every September, the Traverse City Business News spotlights 40 local professionals under age 40 who excel professionally and in the community. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the annual 40Under40 list of influencers, and the third year Hagerty has been the signature sponsor. The winners were celebrated at a reception last night at Crooked Tree Arts Center Traverse City.

The 2018 class is comprised of a record 28 women, as well as several new faces and multiple-year recipients.

After receiving 120-plus nominations from the community, a panel of judges reviewed the submissions and chose the 40 influencers whose professional and community efforts during this past year had the most impact. The panel included K.K. Trucco, vice president of recruiting for Hagerty; Doug Luciani, CEO of Traverse CONNECT and the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce; Luke Haase, publisher of the TCBN; Lynda Wheatley, executive editor of the Northern Express; and Gayle Neu, contributing editor of the TCBN.

At last night's reception, winners were celebrated, heard comments from Boomerang Catapult Principal Casey Cowell, and received complimentary "swag bags" containing donated gifts from Hagerty, Chateau Chantal, Cherry Republic, Crystal Mountain, Cultured Ferments, Fustini's, Higher Grounds, Jimmy Johns, Mammoth Distilling, Oryana, Priority Health and Tee See Tee.
