Slate Of Events During Up North Pride Week

A slew of events are still on tap for Traverse City’s Pride Week, culminating with Saturday’s giant Visibility March:
 
Tonight (June 19) is a Sign Making Party at Rare Bird Brewpub from 7 to 8:30. Art supplies, posters, and more will be provided by Up North Pride; attendees will provide the inspiration and artwork. The signs are for Saturday’s Visibility March, or any/every other Pride event. Artists of all ages and abilities welcome.
 
Thursday: Prism > A Pop-up Gallery Experience, at BLK MRKT at 144 Hall Street, 5-9pm. A unique pop-up art experience, offering a night of queer art and fresh local treats. Plus Parallel 45 Theatre will give a sneak-peak mini-performance at 7:30 of a few songs from HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, coming to the Civic Center Park Amphitheater this summer.
 
Friday: Up North Pride Drag Night at The Little Fleet, 448 East Front Street, 7-10. Wellington Street will be shut down for Drag Night, featuring a headlining performance by Peppermint, season 9 runner-up on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Live performances, cocktails, and a line-up of drag talent, including national headliners and local and regional queens and kings.
 
Saturday: Free Pride Yoga In The Open Space, 1:30 and 2:30pm. Ted & Kelly Stiglich of Peoples Yoga & Aerial Fitness and Casey Chamberlain will offer a free gentle yoga practice. The 60-minute outdoor class will include meditation, breath work, chanting, and silence.
 
Pride Picnic in F & M Park, 716 E. State St., 3-6pm. The 3rd Annual Pride Picnic is a family-friendly event with live music, fun activities for the kids, food vendors, and more. It is free and open to the public.
 
2019 Visibility March, 5:30-7p.m., downtown Traverse City. The rally starts at the Pride Picnic, followed by a march down Front Street to the Open Space. Posters, rainbow flags, and Pride spirit welcome for this family-friendly event. 

Visibility Celebration, 7pm-midnight, Open Space Park. Following the parade, participants and others will gather for a celebration featuring My Brightest Diamond, live music and DJ entertainment, cocktails, food trucks, dancing, carnival games, and a silent disco party. Rain or shine, all ages welcome, free to attend. Drinks, food, merchandise, and games/activities will be available for purchase.
