West Boardman Lake District Open House Tonight

April 21, 2016

An open house to seek public input on the future of the West Boardman Lake District will be held tonight (Thursday) from 5-7pm in the second-floor training room of the Governmental Center.

City officials are seeking resident input on what they'd like the district - which runs from Fourteenth Street to Eighth Street - to look like. Input will shape a report with recommendations to city commissioners on potential land use in the area going forward, including the proposed Boardman Lake Avenue, the West Boardman Lake Trail and other neighborhood projects. "It's not just about the (proposed) street, but the area and how connectivity will occur with the neighborhood and current infrastructure," according to Grand Traverse County Deputy Director of Planning and Development Jean Derenzy, who is helping coordinate the project through the county's partnership with the city on community development programs.
