Kalkaska Food Drive Nets 6 Tons

The Kampout for KAIR (Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resource) event last weekend netted more than six tons of food. A 24-hour temporary campground was set up in front of Bill Marsh in Kalkaska and volunteers accepted donations there as well as at area supermarkets.

"We really needed to restock the pantry shelves going into winter," says acting KAIR director Pastor Rich VanBeek. "This food drive will allow us to help a lot of people who are not really sure how they will feed their families."
