Leelanau Businesses Featured In Bon Appétit

Three Leelanau County businesses are featured in the new July issue of Bon Appétit magazine.

In a round-up of recommended summer activities, the magazine includes a section entitled "Head to Leelanau." Meghan McEwen, owner of Detroit inn Honor & Folly, provides recommendations as a frequent Leelanau visitor on some of her favorite sites. Included in the magazine's must-visit list are:

9 Bean Rows: "9 Bean Rows' bakery and farmshop sits on nearly two acres of handpicked veg. Go early: The sea salt fennel loaves sell out in a finger snap," writes the magazine.

Tandem Ciders: "Tandem Ciders' tiny tasting room spills outside onto picnic tables with postcard views. Spend an afternoon tossing horseshoes and sampling hard ciders like the Crabster - crisp, tart, and dry as a bone - made from local foraged wild apples, before walking out with a growler of your favorite."

Carlson's Fishery: "Carlson's, a fifth-generation fishery dating back to the late 1800s, has a smoked fish pâté so good it justifies the out-the-door lines. Behind the wooden shanty, boats unload the daily haul at the docks."

The July issue of Bon Appétit is available on newsstands now.
