Police Nab GT Commons Shoplifters

Traverse City police turned to the public Monday to find as many as three teen girls suspected of stealing a child-sized mannequin from a store at the Grand Traverse Commons - and were able to track down the suspects.

Surveillance footage captures a girl making off with a dummy from outside of Liana’s Boutique as two other girls apparently acted as lookouts. Child-sized clothing fitted onto the mannequin – a gold headband, white shirt, polka dot leggings and a white fur coat – were also stolen. The theft occurred Nov. 28 between 3pm and 5pm. Traverse City police released the surveillance photos Monday and asked the public for help identifying the teens.

The TCPD posted an update just after 4pm Monday. "The suspects in the retail fraud at the Grand Traverse Commons have been identified and the stolen property has been recovered," the TCPD wrote. "Thank you to the numerous citizens who contacted us with tips. No further information will be released until review by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office."
