Well and Septic Records Going High Tech

Grand Traverse County’s Environmental Health Department is developing a new document imaging application that will allow officials to scan and store all well and septic records on file, including addresses and parcel numbers. More than 40,000 documents will eventually need to be scanned. The system is currently in the testing stage, but once implemented it will allow staff and the public to have online access to the records. The eventual goal is to have a mapping application be the front end for retrieval of the documents.
