Woman Arrested For Assaulting Officer, Violating Bond

A 42-year-old Solon Township woman who was out on bond was arrested Thursday on multiple charges after getting into a violent altercation with deputies.

Leelanau County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a home in the 4400 block of E. Alpine Road in Solon Township on a report of a possible bond violation at 9:04pm. A reporting party complained the woman was continually calling him and that he wanted the calls to stop.

Upon arriving at the home, deputies located the suspect, who appeared intoxicated. The woman was prohibited from drinking as a condition of her bond. When deputies confronted her about the violation, she continued to drink alcohol in front of them. Deputies then informed the woman she was being placed under arrest, at which point she refused to comply and became combative. As deputies struggled to arrest the woman, she kicked one officer in the leg.

The woman was restrained and arrested on charges including assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting and obstructing, and violating bond. She was lodged at the Leelanau County Jail.
