Workshop Brewing To Open Breakfast Place

Pete Kirkwood, founder and owner of The Workshop Brewing Company in Traverse City's Warehouse District, is opening a breakfast spot down the hall in the former Xylo space.

The Remedy (with the tagline, "the cure for what ales you") will be open for breakfast Fridays through Sundays to start and will have the brewery's vibe – and same executive chef, Scott Williams.

Kirkwood tells The Ticker the vacant space was "too good an opportunity to pass up."

The space will also be available as a venue for private events on the days it's not open for breakfast, as well as in the afternoons and evenings on the weekends.

Kirkwood says the place will be gutted and renovated over the next few weeks, but since it's not a change of use, he expects things to go quickly with plans to open in December.

Tentative hours are 7am-1pm (Friday & Saturday), 8am-2pm (Sunday).

Kirkwood is also planning to introduce cider and wine to The Workshop by spring and plans to have beer, wine and cider available at The Remedy by summer.
