"100+ Women Who Care" Picks Its Winner

The local giving group 100+ Women Who Care Grand Traverse and Leelanau County has selected the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center (TBCAC) as the beneficiary of a $10,000 grant. The funds will be used to develop a pediatric program for young children of sexual abuse, physical abuse, or who have witnessed a violent crime. Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center, which serves a six-county area, began in 2010 with its headquarters in Grand Traverse County. Children are referred to the Center through law enforcement or child protective services. In 2017, 350 children were serviced by the organization. All clients of TBCAC receive unlimited access to trauma informed care.

The 100+ Women Who Care Grand Traverse and Leelanau County has been distributing quarterly gifts of $10,000 or more since forming in December 2011. The group has donated over $290,000 since then to 75 different nonprofit organizations. For more information about the group, email Kristin Marinoff at 100wwctc@gmail.com.
