BATA Suspends Bayline Service

BATA is suspending its free crosstown Bayline route effective Wednesday, April 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to BATA, if the route elimination impacts essential transportation needs (work, medical, grocery), riders should call 231-941-2324 to request Link door-to-door transportation. BATA scheduling is available Monday-Friday from 5am to 7pm, and rides can be requested up to one week in advance.

All coronavirus service adjustments will be in effect until further notice. BATA continues to reinforce use of public transportation for essential travel only. Riders can go online or call 231-941-2324 for the most recent route schedules and information.

BATA is continuing to take the following actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
> Increasing cleaning and sterilization efforts on all vehicles and facilities at all levels of the organization with hourly and daily deep cleanings
> Reducing unnecessary routes and services based on ridership and demand
> Encouraging use of public transit for only essential transportation and promoting social distancing practices on all buses and at bus stops
> Continuing to educate both staff and riders regarding the CDC’s recommended mitigation practices such as continually washing hands, avoiding touching your face, and staying home if sick.
