Buffalo Wild Wings Coming to TC

Traverse City lovers of wings and beer, it looks like you got your wish.

After what seems like years of speculation, it appears Buffalo Wild Wings will be moving into the space vacated by BD’s Mongolian Barbeque at the corner of US-31 and South Airport Road in Garfield Township.

The Township Zoning Board of Appeals approved a height variance request by Buffalo Wild Wings (also known as BW3) to add three feet to the height of the building.

“They asked for that, we’ve given them the go-ahead to get their permits. We’re not standing in their way,” said Garfield Township Supervisor Chuck Korn.

Mongolian Barbeque shut its doors in September after 11 years. Rumors began circulating immediately that BW3 would be the next tenant. The closest current location is in Petoskey.

The retail buildings in the plaza at the corner, including the former BD's Mongolian Barbeque, City Mac, and MC Sports, are owned by South Airport, LLC.

Minneapolis-based Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the ten fastest-growing restaurant franchises in the nation, with 680 locations in 44 states, including more than eighteen in Michigan. The restaurant and bar is famous for its wings and 14 signature sauces.
