Cherryland Electric Cooperative Names New CEO
The Cherryland Electric Cooperative board of directors has chosen Rachel Johnson to serve as the cooperative’s next chief executive officer.
Johnson will take over CEO duties after General Manager Tony Anderson retires in June. Johnson has served as the cooperative’s member relations manager for the last 10 years. She's also the voice behind Cherryland's Co-op Energy Talk podcast.
"My favorite thing about Cherryland is the unwavering commitment that everyone at the cooperative has toward our members and the communities we serve," Johnson said in a statement. "It’s been a privilege to work for our members during the last decade, and I’m excited to lead us into the future as we continue to modernize the electric grid while delivering the same safe, reliable, and affordable service you’ve come to expect."
Cherryland Electric Cooperative Board President Dave Schweitzer said the board unanimously supported Johnson's promotion, adding that her "in-depth knowledge, experience, and past accomplishments, both at Cherryland and the national level, make her the right person to lead the cooperative into the future."
