City Delays Bijou, Carnegie RFP Reviews Until April

The City of Traverse City, which initially planned to review tenant proposals for the Bijou by the Bay and Carnegie Building on March 16, will now delay that review until April.

According to City Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives Colleen Paveglio, Deputy City Manager Deb Allen - who is leading the request-for-proposals (RFP) process for both buildings - has experienced a family tragedy.

"As a result, we will need to delay presenting this item to the city commission until at least April 6," Paveglio says. Two proposals have been submitted for each building: a performing arts venue and wellness center for the Bijou by the Bay, and offers from Crooked Tree Arts Center and Traverse Area District Library to occupy the Carnegie Building
