Community Foundation Grants $243k

The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation has approved $243,943 in grants to local organizations, bringing its 2018 grant total to $2.4 million granted to more than 65 organizations.
 
The grant awards benefit local organizations for programs and projects focused on arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services, and youth. In determining grant awards numerous factors are considered, including community need and how each request aligns with the unique designated purposes of the variety of endowments the Community Foundation stewards.

The largest grants were awarded to Child and Family Services of Northwestern Michigan for $15,750; Traverse City Area Public Schools for $14,859.96 for a variety of needs; $10,500 to Arts For All Of Northern Michigan; and $10,400 to Michael's Place.
 
The Community Foundation serves Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties.
