Downtown TC Gift Certificate Sales Set New Record

Sales of downtown Traverse City gift certificates hit a record in 2018.

According to the Downtown Traverse City Association (DTCA), annual sales for 2018 were over $683,000 - an increase from $623,000 in 2017. "Downtown gift certificates truly are the perfect gift, and we appreciate the community support," says Marketing & Communications Director Colleen Paveglio. "The continued growth each year has been phenomenal."

The downtown gift certificate program "promotes local spending and the importance of supporting local businesses," according to the DTCA. The holiday season provides a major boost to the sales program, with over half of sales for the entire year - or $350,000 - coming during the holidays. Gift certificates are sold at the DTCA office on State Street, the Hardy Parking Garage (after hours and on weekends), and online.
