Family Fare, Habitat For Humanity Team Up For Veterans Build Program

Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region will partner with the SpartanNash Foundation - owner of local Family Fare Supermarkets - on a fundraising drive to support the Veterans Build program.

Between February 6 and 17, customers at the four Family Fare Supermarkets location in Traverse City, Grawn, and Kalkaska will have an option to donate $1, $5, or $10 at any checkout lane. All proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region. The Veterans Build program provides volunteer, homeownership, and employment opportunities to U.S. veterans, military service members, and their families.

“We’re so excited to be participating again this year in SpartanNash’s campaign,” said Wendy Irvin, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region. “We’re excited for the community to show their support and for Family Fare shoppers to join us in serving a local veteran family through our Veterans Build program.”

More than 50 local Habitats in eight states will receive monetary support through the SpartanNash Foundation campaign. Four previous retail scan campaigns benefiting Habitat for Humanity partners raised nearly $700,000.
