Fife Lake RV Park is Back

Developers of a highly contentious RV park proposed for Fife Lake changed their mind about backing out, and a vote on their rezoning request is scheduled for next week.

Despite emailing the village to back out, the developers are "withdrawing their withdrawal," Village President Tom Hempsted tells The Ticker.

The project is now back on the agenda for a vote on Monday at the Fife Lake Village Council meeting, Hempsted says.

The rezoning request is for a 25-acre parcel just east of U.S. 131 and south of State Street in the northwest corner of the village. The Fife Lake Area Planning Commission, a joint commission that includes the village and township, already approved a rezoning request.

Though the issue has been tabled a few times, Hempsted doesn't see that happening again Monday.

"We're either going to deny it or approve it. It's going to be one or the other," Hempsted says. "We're not going to table this another month."
