Fife Lake Woman Arrested for Possessing Narcotics, Crack Cocaine

A 49-year-old Fife Lake woman is facing multiple potential drug charges following a traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Michigan State Police troopers stopped a vehicle at 12:20am Thursday on M-66 near Jacks Landing Road in Garfield Township for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old woman from Fife Lake, had a prescription bottle on the dashboard with the label scratched off. The trooper identified the pills as a schedule 5 narcotic. The driver did not have a prescription for the medication.

The trooper also found numerous schedule 3 and 4 prescription pills and approximately four grams of crack cocaine in the woman's possession. She was placed under arrest and lodged in the Kalkaska County Jail. Her name has not yet been released pending arraignment.
