Greenspire School Names New Superintendent, Principals

The Greenspire School has named Eli Holm as its new superintendent and high school principal, coming to Traverse City from Washington state, while Becky Morse has been promoted from middle school assistant principal to principal.

Holm "brings more than two decades of experience as a teacher, school administrator, university professor, performing arts producer, outdoor education leader, and student leadership advisor in Washington State," according to a Greenspire release. "Throughout his career, he has focused on building meaningful relationships, creating authentic learning experiences, and helping students connect learning to the world around them."

Holm's LinkedIn profile notes recent roles including adjunct professor at Eastern Washington University and assistant principal at the Deer Park School District in Washington.

"Our family's journey to the greater Traverse City area began through opportunities in the arts for our children and grew into a deep appreciation for this remarkable region and the people who call it home," Holm said in a statement. "As I learned more about Greenspire, it immediately felt like a natural fit. The school's commitment to authentic learning, environmental stewardship, creativity, and community closely aligns with the values that have shaped both my personal and professional journey."

Greenspire Board President Yvette Babin-Ringsmuth said the search committee found what it hoped for in Holm.

"Throughout the search process, we were looking for someone who understood that Greenspire is more than a school—it's a community," Babin-Ringsmuth said. "After Eli spent the day with our students, staff, families, and members of the search committee in May, it became clear that he approached every conversation with humility, curiosity, and a genuine desire to listen. Together with Becky, whose time with Greenspire has allowed her to build meaningful relationships with our students, families, and staff, we believe this leadership team is well positioned to build on our strong foundation while leading us into an exciting new chapter."

Morse called it an "incredible honor" to step into the role of middle school principal. "I truly believe our greatest successes come from working together with trust, kindness, and a shared commitment to doing what's best for kids," she said. "I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and collaborate with this amazing community as we build on Greenspire's strengths and ensure every student feels known, valued, challenged, and inspired to grow."
