Here's The Latest On Traverse City's Absentee Ballot Numbers

Traverse City Clerk Benjamin Marentette tells The Ticker that as of yesterday (Monday) — eight days before Election Day — 6,562 residents have requested an absentee ballot. 4,743 (or 72 percent) of those have been received back at the Clerk’s office. The number of requested absentee ballots is a record by far; Marentette reports that the percentage returned is “about on track” eight days out, and that he hopes to receive as many as 98 percent of all requested ballots back with votes.
