Huntington Bank Closing Fourteenth Street Location

Huntington Bank is closing 13 locations across Michigan, including its Traverse City location on Fourteenth Street.

The company confirmed the closures in a statement to the Detroit Free Press. While Huntington Bank did not share a reason for the closures, it said it "regularly reviews its branch network and makes adjustments, such as opening or closing locations," according to the story. Many of the reported closures are in the Detroit area, with two in Grand Rapids and one in Traverse City. The company said in its statement that any branches closed will still have another branch open within a 10-minute drive. Huntington has multiple other TC locations including at Chums Corner, on West Front Street, in Campus Plaza on East Front Street, and at the Grand Traverse Mall, according to the company's website.

In Traverse City, the Fourteenth Street bank is located on the outer edges of the Tom's Food Markets parking lot. Tom's has announced an ambitious redevelopment plan for its site, aiming to create a “market village” anchored by the grocery store with four new tenants in the former Rite Aid space and two new outlot buildings with multiple restaurant and/or retail tenants.
