Mt. Holiday Looking For New Leader
Traverse City's Mt. Holiday is looking for a new executive director. Theresa Galante, credited as a "driving force in the Mt. Holiday community for over 9 years," has submitted her resignation to the board effective May 2016.
According to a statement released by the board of directors, Galante was "instrumental in laying the footprint for the financial sustainability of Mt. Holiday," with cost-cutting measures and budget strategies that resulted in an overall debt reduction of more than $250,000. Her long-range planning has also allowed Mt. Holiday to go from being a 90-day ski operation to a year-round recreation area, including creation of the Mt. Holiday Zip Line now in its second year.
Galante says in the statement the decision to step down "was a difficult one to make, but a timely one at this point in my life."
The Mt. Holiday board has formed a screening committee to begin the search to find its next executive director.
