National Cherry Festival Combines Heritage, Junior Royale Parades Into New Parade

The National Cherry Festival has announced the launch of a new parade for the 2022 event called the Consumers Energy Community Royale Parade. The parade will combine the Heritage and Junior Royale parades previously featured at the festival.

According to the Cherry Festival, the new parade will not be "replacing" the Heritage and Junior Royale parades, "but rather encompassing your favorite parts of both parades highlighting all the features that make this community the amazing place it is...you will be sure to see the smiling faces of our first graders on their school floats, hear the rumble from the tractors ridden by our local growers, and be filled with pride to celebrate our veterans, just as our community has always done before."

The Consumers Energy Community Royale Parade will take place on Thursday, July 7. Applications to participate in the parade and in the DTE Energy Foundation Cherry Royale Parade - planned for Saturday, July 9 - are available online now.
