No Winter Comedy Fest This Year
The Traverse City Winter Comedy Arts Festival, which Traverse City Film Festival (TCFF) officials had said was returning this year, will not be happening this year after all, sources tell The Ticker.
In August, Michael Moore and TCFF officials said that the fest, which was operated by the TCFF and ran until 2015, would return this winter. Meg Weichman of the TCFF had said the revitalized event would bring "top tier talent to town, with some unique events that will celebrate a much needed comedy respite when winter is at its bleakest,” adding that it would be held on a Thursday-Sunday in late February or early March.
Festival officials did not return an inquiry for comment, but other sources, including popular Traverse City festival venue operators, confirmed the Comedy Fest as imagined will not occur in 2020.
