Northern Michigan Featured in Vogue Spread

Northern Michigan is featured in a new spread in Vogue magazine this week, which highlights many of the region's shops, restaurants, farms, beverage producers, events, and natural attractions.

"It’s easy to feel reluctant when sharing the secrets of Northern Michigan with the wider world, though between a host of high-profile restaurant openings, new hospitality concepts, and a wine scene that’s attracting national recognition there’s never been a better time to visit," writes author Christine Chitnis, a regular summer visitor to Torch Lake.

Chitnis name-checks local eateries including The Cooks' House, Farm Club, Boathouse, Modern Bird, Hexenbelle, Crocodile Palace, and The Mill, along with the soon-to-be-opened Mission Proper on Old Mission Peninsula. Farm and purveyor staples Lakeview Hill Farm, Bardenhagen Berries, Buchan’s Blueberry Hill, Idyll Farms, Saltless Sea Creamery, Carlson’s Fish Market, and Bellaire Smokehouse are also featured in the article. Numerous local wineries get a shout-out, as do stores like Wilson Antiques and Elk Rapids Antiques and venues like Interlochen Center for the Arts. Chitnis also highlights destinations like Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes, the National Cherry Festival, and the M-22 scenic drive in the story.
