St. Vincent Opens TC's First Catholic Bookstore
More proof that Traverse City's Society of St. Vincent de Paul is bouncing back: It's opening a religious book and gift store inside the Society's location at 1207 Woodmere Ave. The news comes less than a year after the temporary closure of the Society's thrift store and food pantry operations. Following the April, 2012 closure, the charity re-organized, bringing in new grant money, a new executive director and spiritual advisor – local businessmen Tim Moeggenberg and Kevin Endres respectively – and relocating to its new location on Woodmere. St. Vincent officials says the bookstore is the only Catholic bookstore in Traverse City; a Christian bookstore is open inside Espresso Bay East, which has been housed inside the Grand Traverse House of Prayer on the southwest corner of South Airport and Garfield roads since July.
