Street Closures Planned On Barlow, Boon, Garfield, Maple, Fifteenth

Several Traverse City streets will experience closures beginning today (Wednesday) for repairs.

Crews will be resurfacing Barlow Street between Hannah Avenue and Centre Street today through next Wednesday, October 18. Workers will be removing existing pavements, grading and compacting the gravel base, and overlaying with hot mix asphalt. Barlow Street will be closed to all traffic during the day when workers are present.

Crews will also be resurfacing Boon Street between South Garfield Avenue and Hastings Street today through next Tuesday, October 17. Workers will be removing existing pavements, grading and compacting the gravel base, and overlaying with hot mix asphalt. Boon Street will be closed to all traffic during the day when workers are present. The intersection of Boon Street and Hastings Street will remain open to traffic. On South Garfield Avenue, the easterly northbound lane at the Boon Street intersection will be closed during the day when workers are present.

Finally, crews will be resurfacing West Fifteenth Street and South Maple Street today through next Thursday, October 19. On West Fifteenth Street between South Maple Street and Veterans Drive, crews will be milling existing pavements and overlaying with hot mix asphalt. West Fifteenth Street will be closed to all through traffic during the day when workers are present. On South Maple Street between West Fifteenth Street and Belanger Lane, crews will be milling existing pavements and overlaying with hot mix asphalt. South Maple Street will be closed to all through traffic during the day when workers are present.

Delays can be expected in all project areas. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.
