Two Arrested In Connection To Walmart Thefts

Two Traverse City residents have been arrested in connection to a string of thefts from Walmart.

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office detectives arrested 35-year-old Aaron Daniel Rajala and 24-year-old Shelby Lynne Kaiser after warrants for both individuals were issued in connection to the crimes. The department sought public help earlier this month in identifying a man and woman involved in a theft from Walmart in Garfield Township. Through public tips, the suspects were identified and numerous search warrants obtained, with both individuals interviewed by authorities.

As part of that investigation, approximately $3,000 worth of stolen goods - specifically electronics - were recovered from the suspects. The investigation also determined numerous thefts occurred over a period of time, dating back to the latter part of 2018. The suspects were arrested on charges including criminal enterprise, receiving/concealing stolen property, organized retail fraud, and lying to police.
